Account Deletion

HomeschoolGo users can request deletion of their account and associated data at any time. You do not need the Android app installed to start this request.

How to request deletion

Email [email protected] from the email address on your HomeschoolGo account and include the words "Delete my account" in the subject or message body.

If you still have access to HomeschoolGo, you can also sign in, open your profile, and use the Delete my account option. Either path starts the same deletion request.

Verification

Before deleting an account, we may verify that the request came from the account owner. If we need more information, we will reply to the email address on the account.

Data deleted

When your request is approved, we delete or anonymize account data associated with your user account, including:

  • Your sign-in account and authentication profile
  • Your personal profile details, such as name and email address
  • Your family membership links and student records connected only to your family account
  • Messages, posts, uploads, and other content associated with your account where deletion is technically and legally permitted

Data we may retain

Some records may be retained when required for legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, backup, or operational reasons. Examples include payment records, audit logs, records needed by a co-op administrator to manage the organization, and information required to preserve another user's records. When possible, retained records are minimized or disconnected from your active account.

Timing

We aim to complete verified deletion requests within a few business days. Backup copies and retained operational logs may take longer to age out according to our normal retention practices.

Co-op owners

If you own a co-op in HomeschoolGo, deleting your user account may require transferring ownership, exporting records, or closing the co-op first so other members are not locked out of their information.
