Privacy Policy

HomeschoolGo ("we," "our," or "us") provides software for homeschool co-ops and similar groups. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service").

Information we collect

  • Account data. When you register, we collect information such as name, email address, and credentials you provide. Organizations you belong to may add profile details (e.g. family members, children, contact information) as part of using the Service.
  • Usage and technical data. We may collect IP address, browser type, device information, and similar data needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Payment data. Payments are processed by third-party providers (e.g. Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers; those providers handle card data subject to their own policies.
  • Content you submit. Calendar events, messages, documents, photos, directory entries, and other content you or your organization uploads are stored so the Service can function as intended.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate users and enforce access controls
  • Process transactions and communicate about billing
  • Respond to support requests and send service-related notices
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

SMS messaging

If you or your co-op administrator enables SMS notifications, we collect your mobile phone number for the sole purpose of sending you operational messages from your co-op (such as class reminders, schedule updates, and announcements).

  • Opt-in. SMS opt-in is voluntary. You must explicitly enable SMS notifications in your account settings and provide a mobile number before any messages are sent to you.
  • Opt-out. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by disabling SMS notifications in your account settings. After opting out, no further messages will be sent to that number.
  • Message delivery. SMS messages are delivered through Twilio, Inc., our messaging service provider. Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio to facilitate delivery and is subject to Twilio's privacy policy. We do not sell or share your phone number with any other third party, and it is never used for marketing purposes unrelated to your co-op's operations.
  • Message and data rates. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to messages you receive.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with vendors who help us run the Service (hosting, email delivery, analytics, payment processing) under contractual obligations to protect data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Organizations. When you use the Service as part of a co-op or group, information you submit may be visible to administrators and other members according to that group's settings and your role. Each organization is responsible for how it uses member data.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for session management, security, and preferences. Essential cookies are required for sign-in and core features.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account subject to legal and operational constraints (e.g. accounting records).

Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request. We may verify your identity before responding.

Children

The Service is intended for use by adults and organizations managing family and student information. If you believe we have collected information from a child inappropriately, please contact us.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with an updated date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service.

Contact

For privacy questions, contact the administrator of your organization or reach us through the contact options provided on our website.
