Public Page Builder
1. Opening the editor
The Page Builder is available to co-op admins on any plan. You can explore the editor, try templates, and save drafts for free. Publishing the page, making it visible at a public URL, requires the Plus plan.
Importing an existing website
The first time you open the editor, you'll see a dismissible Have an existing website? card pointing at Import from your website, marked Beta. If your co-op already has a website somewhere else, this is worth trying before you build from a blank template.
Enter your current site's URL and HomeschoolGo crawls your homepage and up to 14 sub-pages (15 pages total), pulling in your real content — headings, body text, and structure — as a starting layout in the builder, with an option to enhance the result with AI. It's a starting point, not a finished page: review what came in and adjust the blocks, images, and copy before you publish. If your current site is bigger than that, the extra pages are simply skipped, so its bigger sections may need to be added by hand.
If you dismiss the card without trying it, you can still reach the import tool later from Admin › Custom Pages › Import from website.
2. The editor at a glance
The editor has three panels. Knowing what each one does makes everything else click.
A welcoming co-op for curious families.
Lists every block on your page in order. Click a block to select it. Drag the ⠿ grip handle to reorder. Use + Add section at the bottom to insert new blocks.
Shows how your page will look to visitors. Switch between Desktop, Tablet (820 px), and Mobile (390 px) using the toggle in the toolbar. Each size renders in its own viewport, so the layout you see matches what visitors on that device will see. Click any section to select it.
All the editable fields for the selected block. Changes appear in the preview in real time, no per-field save button. Three tabs: Content, Design, and Advanced.
3. Starting with a template
The first time you open the Page Builder, a template chooser appears. Templates pre-fill your page with a ready-made arrangement of blocks. Pick the one closest to your goal, then customize it. You can also choose Start blank to build from scratch.
Templates are a starting point only. You can add, remove, or reorder any block after applying one.
| Template | Best for | Pre-built blocks |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome | Established co-ops with a story to tell | Nav · Hero · About · Features · Events · Contact |
| Simple | Fastest setup — clean and minimal | Hero · Features · Events · Apply CTA |
| Showcase | Showing off what your co-op offers | Nav · Hero · Features · About · Events · FAQ · Apply CTA |
| Link Hub | Shareable mobile-first link page | Hero · Links list · Events · Contact |
| Events | Active co-ops that run lots of events | Hero · Events · Features · Apply CTA · Contact |
| Apply Now | Recruiting and converting new families | Hero · Features · Testimonials · Apply CTA · Contact |
| Outdoor Co-op | Nature or outdoors-focused style | Announcement Strip · Nav · Dark Hero · About · Image Features · Contact · Text · Announcement Strip · Footer |
4. Adding and editing blocks
Adding a block
Click + Add section at the bottom of the Sections panel. It opens the block picker shown below.
Reordering blocks
Drag any block by the ⠿ grip handle on the left side of its row in the Sections panel to reorder it. You can also use the up and down arrow buttons that appear when you hover a block row.
Hiding, duplicating, or deleting a block
Hover a block row in the Sections panel to reveal four icon buttons: an eye icon to hide the block from the published page without deleting it (hidden blocks stay in the list, dimmed, so you can bring them back later), plus duplicate (copies it immediately below) and delete. Deleted blocks cannot be recovered. Use hide instead of delete if you just want a section out of the way for now.
The Inspector panel
Click any block to open it in the Inspector. Every change appears in the live preview instantly. Inspector fields are split across three tabs:
Text, links, images, and repeatable lists. This is where you enter what the block says and shows.
Per-block color overrides: background, body text, headings. Optional. Most pages look great using just the theme.
Section max-width, vertical padding, the anchor ID for nav links, and the sidebar display name.

Hero block styles
The Hero is usually the first thing visitors see. It has four style options:
Filled background using your theme accent. Clean, works without a photo.
Your photo as full-bleed background. Automatic dark overlay keeps text readable.
Text on the left, image on the right. Editorial feel. Requires an image.
Light tinted background. Easy to read, no photo required.
Upcoming Events block
This block has no configurable fields. It automatically pulls the next five upcoming events from your co-op's calendar and displays them with date, time, and title. Dates update live as you add or edit events in Admin → Events. Just place it where you want events to appear, nothing to fill in.
Contact vs. Contact Form
Displays static information: email address, meeting days/times, and location. Four layout options — Definition list, Statement strip, Stacked, and Cards. Use this to tell visitors how to reach you.
A form visitors fill out to send you a message directly. Messages arrive in Admin → Page Submissions. Optional phone field. You can customize the button label and the success message shown after submission.
Repeatable fields (Features, FAQ, Nav links…)
Several blocks use repeatable fields, a multi-line text area where each line becomes one item (one feature card, one FAQ entry, one nav link, etc.). Each line uses a dash separator between the label and its detail:
The text before the dash is the card title or question. The text after is the description or answer. Testimonials use a pipe | separator instead, because the quote text itself may contain dashes.
6. Page design and themes
The Page settings panel on the right shows whenever no block is selected. Click an empty area of the canvas to bring it up. The settings here apply across your whole page, so you rarely need to override colors block-by-block.
Color theme
Pick one of six curated themes, or a seventh swatch labeled Custom. The theme controls accent buttons, tinted section backgrounds, and link highlights everywhere on the page. The six curated themes each use their own fixed palette. Typing a hex value into Your own accent coloronly takes effect once you've selected the Customswatch; it won't override one of the six curated themes on its own.
Everyday page settings
| Logo image | Overrides the image shown in the Navigation block and the hero logo badge. Paste an image URL or use the upload button. PNG or SVG with a transparent background works best. |
| Display name | Text shown in the nav bar and footer when there's no logo. Leave blank to use your co-op's default name. |
| Main “join” button — Button text | The wording on the call-to-action button shown across most sections (e.g. “Apply to join”). |
| Main “join” button — Where it goes | The link the button opens. Use a path on your site (start with /) or a full URL (https://…). Setting it once here updates every section that uses the main button. |
Advanced settings
Click Advanced settings at the bottom of the Page settings panel to open a focused dialog for the less frequently changed options.
| Search result title | The headline that shows up in Google and other search engines, and in browser tabs. Defaults to your co-op name if left blank. |
| Search result description | The short blurb shown under the title in search results. Aim for one or two sentences, about 150 characters. |
| Web address (Subdomain / Custom domain) | Choose what URL visitors use to find this page. See section 10 below for full instructions. |
7. Per-section design controls
Every content block has optional design controls in its Inspector tabs. These are layered on top of the page theme. Use them only when a specific section needs to break from the overall style.
| Control | Options | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Background | White, Tinted, Stone, Custom | White and Tinted use your theme palette. Stone is a warm gray. Custom accepts any hex value. |
| Max width | Narrow, Normal, Wide, Full | Controls how wide the content is allowed to grow. Full removes all horizontal margin for edge-to-edge layouts. |
| Vertical padding | Compact, Normal, Spacious | Adds breathing room above and below the content. Compact works well for dividers and small callouts. |
| Body text color | Hex color | Overrides default body text for this block, useful on dark custom backgrounds where the theme's default text would be illegible. |
| Heading color | Hex color | Overrides heading color independently from body text. |
| Anchor ID | Text slug | Sets the URL fragment for nav link scrolling, e.g. type 'about' to create the anchor #about. See Navigation below. |
9. Images and uploads
Several blocks support photos: Hero (background), Image, Split Content, Photo Gallery, Photo Cards, Image Features, and Team. Each image field shows a click-or-drop upload area. Drag an image from your computer or click to open the file picker. If you prefer to paste a URL instead, tap the 'Use URL' toggle below the dropzone.
Uploading a photo
Photo Gallery block
The Photo Gallery block holds up to nine photos arranged in a 2-, 3-, or 4-column grid. Upload each image in the Inspector using the Photo 1 through Photo 9 fields. Leave any slot blank to use fewer than nine. You can control the column count and background color in the Design tab.
10. Domain and URL settings
Web address controls live inside the Page settings panel. Click an empty area of the canvas to deselect any block, then click Advanced settings at the bottom of the panel. The dialog has a Web address section with both options below.
A free subdomain under homeschoolgo.app. Available on the Plus plan. Set it to your co-op name or slug. Once saved, this URL takes visitors directly to your page.
Point your own domain at your HomeschoolGo page. Requires DNS records at your registrar. Once verified, HomeschoolGo handles HTTPS automatically.
A custom domain needs two DNS records at your registrar to fully work:
- A CNAME record for
wwwpointing tocname.vercel-dns.com, which makeswww.yourdomain.comwork. - An A record for
@(the bare domain) pointing to76.76.21.21, which makesyourdomain.com(without www) work.
Add both so visitors reach your page whether or not they type “www.” The Advanced settings dialog shows these exact values and includes a picker for eight common registrars (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Google, Cloudflare, Squarespace, Vercel, Netlify, or Other) with instructions tailored to whichever one you pick. Once you've added the records, use the Check DNSbutton in that same dialog to verify they're live before you consider setup done.
11. Saving and publishing
Auto-save
The editor saves your work automatically every few seconds. A Savedbadge in the toolbar confirms the draft is stored. There's no manual save button to click. You can close the tab and reopen it anytime to continue from where you left off.
If you have the same page open in two tabs at once, the editor detects the conflict and shows a warning. Edit from one tab at a time to avoid overwriting your own work.
Preview mode
Click Preview in the toolbar to expand the preview to full screen without any editor chrome. This is the closest to what a real visitor will see. Click Edit to return to the three-panel layout.
Publishing your page
Click Publish in the top-right corner of the toolbar to make your page live at its public URL. An unpublished page is invisible to the public. Only admins can preview it in the editor.
| Essentials | Plus | |

| Open editor, try templates, save drafts | ✓ | ✓ |

12. Tips and common patterns
Set the Hero block to the Photo style and upload a wide landscape photo of your co-op in action. The editor automatically applies a dark overlay to keep text readable, so you don't need to pre-darken the photo. Use a high-resolution image (at least 1600 px wide) and avoid centered subjects that get cropped on mobile.
You don't need to manually edit your public page when events change. The Upcoming Events block reads directly from Admin → Events and always shows the next five events. As long as events are marked as published (not draft), they'll appear automatically, no editor required.
Visitors who are already sold won't scroll to the footer. They want a way to apply from the hero. Add the Apply to join button in the Hero block, then add a separate CTA block near the bottom for visitors who needed to read more first. Two paths to the same action convert better than one.
A dark Hero followed by a White About, then a Tinted Features, then White Events creates a visual rhythm that guides the eye naturally down the page. Avoid using the same background color for more than two consecutive sections. It makes the page feel like one undifferentiated wall of content.
The Pull Quote block renders a large centered statement, good for a sentence that captures your co-op's character. Use it between content sections as a visual break. For the attribution, write something like "— Our philosophy" or "— Our approach" to describe the source of the idea rather than attributing it to a real person.
Switch to the 390 px Mobile preview before you publish. Multi-column layouts like Photo Cards and Feature Grid reflow to a single column on small screens, so make sure descriptions are short enough to read comfortably without scrolling. The navigation block collapses to a hamburger menu on mobile automatically.
If you want to show off the types of classes your co-op offers, the Image Features block (under Media) displays up to four feature cards, each with a photo, heading, and description. Use the Portrait (3:4) aspect ratio for vertical subject photos and Landscape (16:9) for wide shots. Mix both aspects in the same block for an editorial grid look.
13. Example sites
Three complete page designs built entirely with blocks available in the Page Builder. Every block listed is in the supported set. Nothing here requires a custom theme, code, or a workaround. Use these as starting points or mix and match blocks from each to fit your co-op.
